The NSW Department of Education is making important changes to help keep our students safe online, reduce the risk of cyber threats and make sure their email accounts are used for intended educational purposes only.
Starting Term 4, students will not be able to use their student email address to sign up for, or recover access to any social media, gaming, instant messaging or similar accounts.
What do students need to do?
If you have signed up for a social media, gaming, instant messaging, or similar account using your student email address, please change it to a personal email address on all platforms by Sunday 13 October, 2024 to make sure you do not lose access to the account.
The department is making this change to ensure all student accounts are being used for educational purposes, and to protect students from online risks.
