St Johns Park High School Scholarships 

St Johns Park High School encourages and enables all of our students to explore, enjoy and fulfil their potential. 

 

The St Johns Park High School Scholarship program is based upon academic, cultural and personal development to ensure that the potential of each student is realised in accordance with their particular abilities and aspirations. A Scholarship at St Johns Park High School would provide your child with support and opportunities for success.

Laptops that are awarded as part of the Scholarships are tenable from the time of the award until the end of Year 12.

Congratulations to our Year 12 Special Award Recipients of 2020

  • Truong Linh To - Senior SRC Person of the Year & ADF Long Tan Award + $500.00 scholarship
    Awarded to a student who shows leadership, teamwork, co-operation and a strong ethos of values and mateship. 
  • Aleme Capric - SJPHS Citizenship Award
    Awarded to a student who demonstrates an outstading level of commitment to school spiritand community throughout their time at SJPHS. 
  • Shaela Geason - Fairfield City Council Mayors Community Spirit Award + $300.00 scholarship
    Donated by Fairfield Mayor, Frank Carbone, this award acknowledges volunteering work by Fairfield Council areas young community leaders and their dedication to service and kindness. 
  • Josephine Brunetto - Reuben F Scarf Award
    Presented to a student who has shown improved achievement over the last years of their schooling.
  • Komal Mudaliar - VET Student of the Year
    Awarded to a student who has shown outstanding effort in VET courses.
  • Amy Luu - SBAT Student of the Year & Gough Whitlam Excellence in History Studies Award
    Presented to a student who displays a high level of achievement in SBAT course.
    Sponsored by Federal member for Fowler, Mr Chris Hayes, this award is presented to a student who has made an outstanding effort in History Studies in the HSC year.
  • Adam Lee Lam - SJPHS Commitment Award 
    Presented to a student from the Special Education Unit who has made an outstanding effort and achieved well, despite obstacles.
  • James Pham - SJPHS Commitment Award
    Presented to a student from the Special Education Unit who has made an outstanding effort and achieved well, despite obstacles.
  • Derik Phan Truong - Year 12 Sporting Achievement Award & Caltex Best All-Rounder Award
    Acknowledges excellent effort in the sporting arena in their final year of schooling. 
    Presented to a student who has displayed levels of excellence in a broad range of academic, sporting and citizenship activities over a period of years.
  • Eugene Quach - Dr Michelle Hampson Award ‘The Doc Award’ + $500.00 scholarship
    Generously donated by a former staff member of SJPHS this award recognises a student who has achieved outstanding results in Ancient History.
  • Du Phat Huynh - International Students of the Year
    Presented to an International student who has achieved academic success and embraced the school culture and community.
  • Socheat Chhorika Hak - International Students of the Year
    Presented to an International student who has achieved academic success and embraced the school culture and community.
  • Bronson Martin - Indigenous Student of the Year
    Recognises an Indigenous student who represents not only their links to the oldest continuous culture in the world but also the good name and ethos of St Johns Park High School.
  • Ali Alkinahi - Sportsperson of the Year Award
    The award recognises outstanding excellence across a vast range of sporting arenas. 
  • Abigail Sio - Public Education Ministers Award for Excellence in Student Achievement - Commendation
    This award recognises outstanding Year 12 students who have excelled in their secondary years across academic excellence, sporting, cultural, community and leadership.
  • Daniel Deryong Lin- SJPHS Outstanding Achievement Award
    Presented to a student who has made an outstanding academic achievement in the Higher School Certificate.

NSW School Nanga Mai Awards

The Nanga Mai Awards are an annual event organised by Aboriginal Education and Communities Directorate. The awards recognise and celebrate innovation, excellence and educational achievement in Aboriginal education in NSW public schools, school communities and department directorates.

Premier’s Reading Challenge

This Premier’s Reading Challenge encourages students from Kindergarten to Year 9 to develop a love of reading and plays an important role in developing literacy.

Premier’s Debating Challenge

The Premier’s Debating Challenge is open to students from Year 5 to 12. Teams compete in a round robin series of debates against other schools. The winners go on to compete at regional and state level to determine the eventual state champion.

Public speaking competitions

The Arts Unit offers public speaking competitions for NSW school students. Each competition is a great opportunity for students to develop their speech-writing and presentation skills while representing their schools in a state-wide competition.

Premier’s Anzac Memorial Scholarships

The Premier’s Anzac Memorial Scholarships are an opportunity to visit significant overseas sites associated with Australia’s participation in war for Years 10 and 11 students in selected schools.

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award - Australia

The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award - Australia provides an internationally recognised, self-development program for people aged 14 to 25. The program equips young people with the opportunity to undertake a variety of voluntary and challenging activities.
