Peer Mediation empowers our students to deal with conflict in a mature and productive manner. Peer Mediation purposefully reflects the real world practice of conciliation. It operates on the strong belief that resolutions are best reached voluntarily by student involved in a conflict with the help of a trained, neutral third party. Peer Mediation seeks to increase the school's capacity to respond to student problems by empowering students learn to take greater responsibility for resolving their own disputes.
Peer Mediation runs training sessions for students in Years 10, 11 and 12. The program teaches students skills such as listening, critical thinking and problem solving in relation to their own conflicts as well as the disputes of their peers. Peer Mediation gives students an appreciation of the differences between people and opportunity to respect individual needs and perspectives.
