Our local area has a vibrant community of primary schools that work in partnership with St Johns Park High School. 

Our school continues to build strong relationships with our local feeder primary schools. We understand that for primary school students, the transition to high school can be a daunting experience. We ensure that all students feel welcomed and supported by offering a number of opportunities to participate in life at St Johns Park High School.

A glimpse through the high school gate

Students in Years 4 and 5 participate in a number of taster lessons throughout the year. Taster lessons include activities from different faculties to give students the opportunity to experience high school life. These include:

  • Ciao Italia - Italian lessons
  • Creativity in Art - Visual Art lessons
  • Dramarama - Drama lessons
  • Fitness Fun - Personal Development, Health & Physical Education lessons
  • Number Ninjas - Mathematics lessons
  • STEAM Lighthouse - STEAM lessons
  • The World of Science - Science lessons 

Some of our other primary school programs include:

  • Leadership by the Cowpasture
    Hosted by our school, student leaders from high schools across the Cowpasture network support aspiring primary student leaders.
  • Science Show
    Celebrating Science Week each year with a range of experiments and hands on activities.
  • Primary School Sports Gala Day
    Organised and run by our Year 10 Gifted Athletics Program (GAP) students.
  • Mathematics Olympiad
    Encouraging problem solving and a love of maths.
  • Invitations to student exhibitions
    Year 10 Mental Health and Year 9 Organ Donation exhibitions, environmental exhibitions at our local creek, musical performances and raising awareness for disadvantaged groups, etc.
