Healing through Evan Yako's drumming

St Johns Park High School is proud of our partnership with Evan Yako. Evan moved to Australia from Syria in 2005. He is a full-time session drummer working in the Fairfield area with a range of national and international artists in producing music.

Evan supports a number of our students from refugee or trauma backgrounds, and students who struggle with self-regulation through his project "Healing through Evan Yako's drumming". Students who are having difficulty with everyday life are able to use music and drumming to find connection and purpose.
