Fostering creativity, problem solving and innovative thinking
St Johns Park High School is proud of our partnership with the Sydney Opera House Creative Leadership in Learning.
In partnership with the Sydney Opera House, our 8R students have world premiered their drama piece 'Standing on the Shoulders of Giants'. Our students showcased how creativity can amplify the connection between education and art. This moving piece was shared with the public over three shows at the Sydney Opera House.
Over the course of the year, our students and teachers have worked with teaching artists and creative resources of the Sydney Opera House, to encourage creativity as a teaching technique in the classroom. A cross-curricular project was developed with our English and Geography teachers to address the issue of water sustainability.
The Sydney Opera House welcomed our students, families and the community to our exhibition in the Studio Theatre on Thursday 20 September.

The Year 8 Picture Book Creative Learning Project was developed by the English Faculty in collaboration with the Sydney Opera House.
The project employs a multi-disciplinary approach to developing students’ visual and written literacy, allowing learners to employ a range of presentational devices in the creation of a narrative that explores a real world issue. Year 8 have had tremendous success with the Creative Learning Project, presenting their work at a variety of exhibitions and audiences.
We would like to pay our respects and acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land that St Johns Park High School is located, the Cabrogal People of the Darug nation. We also pay respect to Elders both past and present.
