Innovative education
Future-focused learning prepares students across all curriculum areas and stages with skills and capabilities to thrive in a rapidly changing world.
Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics (STEAM)
STEAM education is the learning of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics. Students gain and apply knowledge and deepen their understanding through an interdisciplinary approach.
STEAM education at St Johns Park High School is delivered to all Year 7 students to explore the inquiry question, "How might we improve connections with our community?" Students use coding, augmented reality, robotics, and mathematical paper folding to create beautiful artworks to be shared in a variety of public forums.
Project Based Learning (PBL)
PBL is an approach to teaching and learning that engages students in rich and authentic learning experiences. It focuses on active, student-directed learning and encourages students to face complex challenges. PBL connects students and our school with communities locally and globally. We offer the following transformative project for our students:
- Year 7 Science - How healthy is our local creek?
- Year 8 Mathematics - Visually Wired
- Year 9 History - Lest We Forget
- Year 10 Science - Heart to Heart
- Year 10 Geography - Bridging the Gap
- Year 10 Food Technology - Foodtastic
- Year 10 Personal Development, Health and Physical Education - Mental Health Expo
